How to Make Crunchy Caramel Almond Biscuits

Crunchy Caramel Almond Biscuits or also known as Florentine Biscuits are the easiest biscuits to prepare. The name florentine is taken from the name of the flour used in this recipe.

Don’t be surprised if you see that no sugar is used in the recipe because Florentine flour already contains enough sugar and mixture as a caramel sugar base. Just maybe the price is a bit expensive. Che Nom buys bienetta or florentine flour weighing 600g at a price of RM23. Easily available at bakeries.

If you want to buy these biscuits, they are really expensive because the ingredients used are all very expensive. Satisfied if you make it yourself for the whole family and guests on the holiday .

Ingredients:

  • 200 grams of florentine flour
  • 150 grams of sliced almonds
  • 50 grams of white sunflower seeds
  • 100 grams of green sunflower seeds (pumpkin seeds)
  • 2 tablespoons black sesame seeds

How to Prepare:

  1. Heat the oven to 160°C.
  2. Bake the beans for 5 minutes or until crispy.
  3. Remove and cool. Mix the florentine flour together with the beans and black sesame. Pour onto a 14″×14″ pan lined with parchment paper. The purpose is so that the cookies do not stick later. If your oven is small, you can divide it into 2 trays and bake them separately.
  4. Bake at 16°C for 10 minutes. Remove and cut into small pieces while still hot. If it is cold, the cookies will break. Cut using a pizza roller or a long knife.

Tip:

  • If you can’t find Florentine flour, you can try to find Bienetta flour. Both can be used for these cookies.
