The process of making steamed apple cake
- Wash apples, peel them, remove seeds, then cut them into small pieces. Boil the peas, remove the skin, then put the peas and apple in a blender and puree.
- When the mixture of apples and peas has been pureed, put it in a bowl and pour in the glutinous rice flour, mix the sticky rice flour mixture with the apples and peas well.
- Then, brush a thin layer of cooking oil on the cake mold to prevent the apple cake from sticking to the mold.
- Put the egg whites in a bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the egg whites until stiff peaks. Then, add half of the mashed apples and beans into the bowl of egg whites and mix well, then pour them back into the bowl of egg whites and mix gently so as not to break the air bubbles.
- Pour the apple cake mixture into the mold then put it in the pot/steamer basket, steam the cake for about 10 – 15 minutes until the cake is done.
